How does bulk billed psychology work?
Bulk billed psychology means the full cost of the session is covered, leaving the client with zero out-of-pocket expenses.
At My Mirror, we strongly believe that mental health support should be accessible to those who need it the most. That's why our psychologists allocate a portion of their psychology sessions bulk billed for eligible clients who have applied for bulk billing.
I have applied for bulk-billing, what are the next steps?
Your application will be assessed by our team within 1-3 business days and your outcome will be sent via email to you. Please wait for the approval confirmation email prior to booking a session, any sessions booked prior to the outcome being released will not be bulk-billed even if you are approved.
This email will detail the next steps you for you to take depending on the outcome you have received.
What criteria do you assess the bulk-billing application on?
We place a big importance on making mental health services accessible to all. Our application forms ask a few questions that help us understand your situation and asses you on a case-by-case basis. Some of the factors we consider are your residential location, whether you are experiencing financial hardship and your employment status, and whether you hold a healthcare concession card.
Please be aware that to be eligible, it is essential that you hold a referral and Mental Health Plan from your GP or online doctor. Should you not have attained this, please make an appointment with your GP to ask for one.
Without these documents, regardless of whether your situation is approved, we are unable to provide bulk-billed sessions.
Can I get my Mental Health Plan bulk billed?
You can get your Mental Health Plan bulk billed by requesting an online appointment. Talk to an online GP from the comfort of your own home and receive your Mental Health Plan and referral letter just like you would in a face-to-face appointment.
Online Mental Health Plan assessments are bulk billed, meaning you won't have any out-of-pocket expenses.
Can I book a session under bulk billing as soon as I am approved?
As soon as you are approved, you will receive an email from our team advising you of your outcome and how to proceed with booking an appointment.
We will be issuing you a discount code to your profile that is automatically allocated to your payment page when booking in with a bulk-billing available psychologist. This means that should you be eligible for bulk billing, you will be able to book a session as soon as you receive your approval.
Please be aware that not all of our psychologists are available for bulk-billed appointments. As we are not a predominantly bulk-billing clinic, we will have a limited number of psychologists taking bulk-billing appointments at any one time. The team will inform you who is available for bulk billing at the time of approval. Please note that this can change week to week, and is best to book in as soon as possible once approved to secure your preferred bulk-billing psychologist.
What clients say about My Mirror
So grateful
I am so grateful for my psychologist from My Mirror, and having my psychologist available via telehealth has been so much more beneficial for my mental health. Being able to be seen, heard and listened to rather than waiting so long on a waitlist has been a godsend.
Fantastic experience
Having been initially sceptical, my overall experience with My Mirror has been fantastic. My Mirror matched and connected me with a psychologist who simply “got” me from the very beginning. I cannot recommend this service enough.
Big tick
I'm one of those people who doesn't enjoy going out of my home or talking to a doctor, let alone a psychologist. Without My Mirror and the services they provide I would most likely neglect seeking help, so it's a big tick from me for these guys.
What we need
One of the best online platforms I have ever used. The simplicity of the bulk billing system, rebates and the selection of well educated clinical psychologists is what we need. Couldn't of found a better website. 🙌
