Am I eligible to access My Mirror online psychology services for a reduced cost?

You may be eligible to use My Mirror telehealth services from just $129.05 for a standard 50 min session, if:

• you hold a Mental Health Care Plan and GP referral to access Medicare rebates

You may be eligible to use our telehealth services for a reduced cost, if**:

• your employer, or relevant organisation, has provided a discount code to apply to our services, or
• your private health insurance covers telehealth psychology services

What is a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a support plan written by a GP and it is available to anyone who feels they would benefit from psychological support for mental health concerns. A MHCP is usually accompanied by a referral from your GP to see a psychologist.

With a MHCP you can access Medicare rebates to get up to 10 reduced-cost psychology sessions per calendar year.

Upload your MHCP, referral letter and Medicare details onto your My Mirror dashboard to share them with your psychologist before your first session. With all your documents in one place, you can quickly find the information you need to complete a Medicare rebate claim on your psychology sessions.

Alternatively, your GP can easily sign-up with My Mirror and enter your MHCP and referral details into our safe and secure platform, or email directly to hello@mymirror.com.au for us to upload on your behalf. In every scenario, we have a solution to help you access convenient online therapy.

Can I claim sessions with private health insurance?

Please speak to your private health insurer directly about your level of cover, to see whether you're eligible to claim some or all of the cost of each psychology session.  This claim will be lodged by the client and not My Mirror.

When will my card be charged?

You will only be charged when your session is complete or in the event of a late cancellation. This means you can secure your session reservations in advance without multiple holds or payments.

You will be charged the full private rate for your session. If you have a valid Mental Health Plan & GP referral letter, you'll be eligible for Medicare rebates, which you can claim as soon as you receive your paid invoice after your psychology session. Learn more about our cancellation policy

How do I access Medicare rebates on my psychology sessions?

To access Medicare rebates, you will need to have a referral letter and Mental Health Plan from your GP.

Once you have a referral and Mental Health Plan, you may upload your documents to the "Medicare" tab within your My Mirror profile. This helps your psychologist better understand your needs ahead of your session, and keeps all your documents in one place to make claiming easier.

You can book your psychology session at any time, but ensure you have your referral letter and Mental Health Plan uploaded to your dashboard in time for your session.

You can submit your own claim through the Express Plus Medicare app or by logging into myGov online. Simply complete the claims form as prompted and provide relevant details about your session, including information from your paid invoice which My Mirror will email to you after each session.

Am I eligible to bulk bill sessions?

At My Mirror, we know how important it is to get access to mental health support, when and where you need it most. That’s why we provide bulk-billed sessions to those with a valid Medicare card living in Australia who meet certain criteria.  More information about bulk-billing.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule or even cancel your upcoming session, you can do so directly via your My Mirror dashboard. Please login to your account select the upcoming session that you would like to reschedule or cancel, and click 'edit session'. From there you will be able to select to reschedule or cancel.

For cancellation fees and cancellation periods, please see the table below.  Please note that you will be charged the full fee if you do not attend a session. Cancellation fees are not eligible for medicare rebate. Please read our  Terms of Service: Cancellation Policy for more information.

What happens if I miss my session?

If you do not show up for your scheduled session your payment method will be charged for the full price of the session. In the event of a personal emergency please reach out to our team directly via hello@mymirror.com.au or 02 9090 4730 and we will help facilitate with your psychologist.
