Mrs Lilian Mariano
Psychologist
Hi, I'm Lilian
Welcome! I am sincerely glad you are here!
Let's embark on this amazing journey together!
I am passionate about empowering individuals across the lifespan in their journeys, and I feel my communication style resonates with the 30+ who may be navigating the complex challenges of ADHD, C-PTSD, Childhood Trauma, Chronic Pain, or going through significant life transitions.
From a young age, my sole aspiration was always clear - "I wanted to be helpful". At the tender age of five, I confided in my mom about my ambitious dream of becoming an "emotions doctor" In my youthful innocence, I believed that I could surgically remove "sadness" as if it were a tangible entity. While my understanding of the intricacies of the human body has evolved, my unwavering passion for aiding others has remained constant.
What to Expect from Our Work Together:
Our journey will always unfold in a safe, kind, warm and empathetic therapeutic space. I deeply appreciate the courage it takes to seek support, and I honour that bravery with a compassionate, open and gentle approach.
Together, we’ll explore how your brain and nervous system have adapted to past experiences. We’ll discuss how neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to change—can support healing and growth. You’ll gain insights into how to work with your brain, not against it, whether you’re managing ADHD-related challenges, healing from trauma, or navigating chronic pain.
Trauma can leave lasting imprints, but those do not define you. Through Adaptive Processing, we’ll target distressing memories and associated beliefs, gradually reprocessing them in a way that transforms their impact. You’ll learn to move from a place of feeling “stuck” to one of resilience and empowerment.
Living a Richer Life: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy focuses on creating a meaningful life despite challenges. We’ll explore how to unhook from unhelpful thoughts, accept painful emotions, and commit to actions that align with your values. It’s not just about surviving but about truly living—discovering what brings you joy and fulfilment.
Living with ADHD can often feel chaotic or overwhelming. We’ll explore strategies for managing attention and executive function in ways that honour your strengths and work to minimize shame or frustration.
Support for Life Transitions: Major changes, whether planned or unexpected, can stir up complex emotions. We’ll approach these transitions with curiosity and care, drawing on mindfulness, self-compassion practices, and personalized strategies to support you as you navigate new chapters.
Above all, my mission is to help you reconnect with your inner strengths, make sense of your experiences, and create a fulfilling life on your terms. You are not alone in this journey of healing and growth, it will be an incredible honour if you decide we should walk this path together!
Supporting people throughout their life's endeavours is not just a career, it is my purpose — my Ikigai 生きがい (Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for living.)
My Approach
I believe in a compassionate, client-centred and evidence-based approach to therapy, which integrates the latest psychological science, comprising concepts from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) and Neuroscience to collaboratively tailor a kind, comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to meet you where you are, as this is the only way we can move forward, right?
