Rahul Gadhoke
Psychologist
From Fri 22 Nov
Hi, I'm Rahul
Thank you for considering me to be a part of your journey towards improving your mental health. I understand this journey is different for everyone, and choosing the right person to guide you through is an important step.
Most people would say that I am a friendly, easy going, compassionate and understanding person. I am always motivated towards developing my knowledge as a Psychologist to have the best skills available for my clients.
My current experience is in working with adolescents and adults to overcome a range of mental health difficulties. I have worked with multiple diagnosis including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1.
In life, when I am not a Psychologist, I enjoy playing soccer, listening to music, and experimenting on the stove with different recipes (to the detriment of my family and friends).
It was soccer that started me on my journey to becoming a Psychologist. Learning how to harness mental power to improve my performance was a revelation that introduced me to the fascinating field. Understanding the joys playing the sport gave me in all areas in life, and the lows when it was taken away through injury, gave me perspective on the powerful impact small changes can have on our mind, and our life.
I feel blessed to have had the opportunity and experience living in different countries. Spending time in Africa, Europe, and The Middle East, before making Australia my home has given me an understanding of different cultures and values, which I bring into every Psychology session. In travelling, I have experienced many joys but also difficulties. Some include making and losing relationships, workplace challenges, and adjusting to new lifes, difficulties that arent reserved for travel alone.
I appreciate my experiences, and come into therapy understanding that everyone has had their own. Whether positive or negative, I want to get to know you and the experiences you have had that lead you towards starting your mental health journey.
My Approach
My space is a judgement free zone where I encourage you to say what you need. There is no right or wrong. I take a collaborative approach, aiming to learn about you to find the best evidence based way to navigate through your difficulties, and find your strengths. I commonly use therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Terapy (ACT) to do this.
I will draw from my Clinical experience and knowledge, discussing options to find what you need to achieve results. I aim to be flexible, listening to you, and make changes when they are needed, and adapt to your needs.
If you are new to therapy, it can be a bit daunting, but I am always open to hearing your concerns. If you have been to therapy before I encourage you to tell me about your experiences and how I can best help you continue your therapeutic journey.
